Citizens And Veterans Of North Las Vegas, It Is Time To Save North Las Vegas From Tyranny And Oppression

North Las Vegas, Nevada (November 27, 2013) elected politicians in NLV Stand by and watch while Police Chief Joseph Chronister continues to allow high ranking police officials to discriminate against Military Veterans and minorities.

NLV Deputy Police Chief Tony Scott is accused of retaliation against a 23 year veteran police officer, who also happens to be a Military Veteran and NLV Police Lieutenant for alerting the tax-paying public about a traffic ticket quota system that was put into place at the North Las Vegas Police Department during the months of December 2012 and January 2013.

Not only is there an accusation of retaliation, which is not permitted by law, there is also an EEOC (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) complaint that has been filed and accepted by the Commission against NLVPD Deputy Chief Tony Scott for Discrimination under Title VII. This complaint (File Number 846-2013-41426) alleges that discrimination occurred against NLVPD Lieutenant Wilson Crespo, Crespo stated: “I believe I was discriminated against due to my race, African American and my National Origin, Puerto Rican and also retaliated against for complaining of discriminatory practices, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.”
Although discrimination and retaliation was reported to Human Resources by this Lieutenant nothing was ever done to address or curb the illegal actions of Deputy Chief Tony Scott.

Why the elected officials in North Las Vegas continue to bury their heads in the sand and why they continue to allow high ranking public officials like Chief Joseph Chronister and Deputy Chief Tony Scott to continue to remain employed, we will never know.

Everyone should be held accountable for their actions or in this case inaction regarding civil rights violations and illegal conduct toward Military Veterans. The thought that this has gone unchallenged, unchecked and allowed to go on is not only unethical it is illegal!

If you want to learn more about this Deputy Chief and his exploits while he was a Police Captain just a few years ago then check out this article in the Las Vegas Sun from Wednesday, May 19, 2010, “Court: Officer Missed Promotion Because Of Superior’s Affair with Ex-Wife.”
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/may/19/court-officer-missed-promotion-because-superiors-a/

Not only did the Nevada Supreme Court agree that this North Las Vegas Police Officer was mistreated by his superior Captain Tony Scott, the NLV Police promoted Tony Scott to Deputy Chief after he delayed another officers promotion and was having an affair with his ex-wife.
If this is not enough to convince you that the elected are turning a blind eye while a Deputy Chief’s entire career reads like a bad episode of movie about police corruption, then listen to this.

As the story goes, allegedly, when Deputy Chief Tony Scott was a Police Sergeant, he was disciplined by the Department giving him two weeks off with no pay because he and another Sergeant, who is now retired were caught placing bets on which trainees would and would not make it through the training program. Allegedly, the police trainees on the list were minorities and at least one was a Military Veteran.
We have brought many of these concerns to the attention of the Mayor and the City Council of North Las Vegas almost a month ago and thus far the actions of the Police Command and their deplorable behavior has quietly been brushed aside as if it were going to disappear. Let’s see what happens now that the public is becoming aware of these injustices?!

Veterans In Politics International launched a commercial last night against the North Las Vegas Police Chief (see attached).
