Attention Clark County Voters;

For those of you that are interested to find out who will become a Judge for Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Department 6, vacated by now Clark County District Court Judge William Kephart…

Interviews will be conducted for Applicants that applied for the position on Wednesday January 14th beginning at 8:30am at the Clark County Government Building in the Pueblo Room on the first floor towards the cafeteria. The Clark County Government Building is located at 500 Grand Central Parkway.

The interviews are open to the public and there will be public comments at the end of the interviews. I was told by the Clark County Public Information Officer that, not all 18 Applicants will be interviewed.

Apparently, the Nevada Judicial Selection Committee has down sized the applicant list for an interview by 50%.

The following Applicants will be interviewed: Amy Chelini, Karen Connolly, Tierra Jones, Bita Khamsi, Kristine Kuzemka, Rochelle Nguyen, Robert Purdy, Jay Raman, and Richard Scow.

Once the interviews are concluded the Nevada Judicial Selection Committee will forward three names to the Board of Clark County Commissioners for a final decision.

Whoever, is decided on as the new Las Vegas Justice Of The Peace for Department 6, will have to become a candidate in a retention election in 2016.

Join me on Wednesday and give the Judiciary a voice from tax paying citizens of Clark County.
