JOINT VETERANS ENDORSEMENT RESCINDED FOR STATE SENATOR DINA NEAL!

Las Vegas, NV –
August 26, 2024 –

On August 22, 2024, Veterans In Politics International, Inc. (VIPI), Armed Forces Chamber PAC, Nevada Democratic Veterans and Military Families Caucus, and Nevada Veterans Association jointly announced the rescission of their endorsement for State Senator Dina Neal following findings of dishonesty during a recent interview.

During an interview on April 3, 2024, at The Foreign Exchange, Senator Dina Neal faced questions regarding allegations published in the Las Vegas Review-Journal about funneling funds to unqualified entities. When Andre’ Haynes from Armed Forces Chamber PAC asked directly about these allegations and a subsequent legal defense fund, Senator Neal responded unequivocally, denying any investigation and using the fund. The interview is published online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uwry7FD874&t=877s, and Andre’ Haynes asks the question in 22 minutes and 27 seconds.

Subsequent news reports by prominent outlets, including the Las Vegas Review-Journal and KTNV 13 Action News, contradicted Senator Neal’s statements and confirmed ongoing federal investigations into her activities. In light of these developments, the veteran service organizations conducted a thorough internal investigation per their endorsement guidelines.

“After careful consideration and review of the facts, it was determined that Senator Dina Neal’s responses during the interview were misleading and untrue,” stated Steve Sanson, President of VIPI. “Transparency and integrity are paramount in our endorsement process, and any breach of trust with the veteran community cannot be tolerated.”

Efforts were made to seek Senator Neal’s comment before this decision, but a response still needs to be received.

All participating veteran service organizations decided to rescind the endorsement collaboratively after thorough deliberation and adherence to their guidelines. Notably, on August 6th, Mikey Kelly resigned as Director of the Nevada Democratic Veterans and Military Families Caucus, further emphasizing the importance of integrity and accountability within these organizations.

The organizations remain committed to supporting candidates who demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to veteran and military community interests.
