From California Political Reject to Nevada Seat Shopper: The Never-Ending Campaigns of Ronda Baldwin-Kennedy
How many elections does a candidate have to lose before voters realize the problem is not the voters — it is the candidate?
That question continues to follow Ronda Baldwin-Kennedy, whose political career has become a trail of failed campaigns, state-hopping, disciplinary issues, and relentless attempts to find a district willing to elect her.
After repeated rejection by California voters, Baldwin-Kennedy relocated to Nevada and immediately launched herself into Nevada politics — despite lacking deep community roots and despite repeatedly changing which office she wanted to run for.
Now she wants Nevada voters to trust her with Congressional District 4 — a district she reportedly does not even live in and cannot even vote for herself in.
Yet somehow, she expects YOU to vote for her.
FIVE CAMPAIGNS. FIVE FAILURES.
Public election records show Baldwin-Kennedy has repeatedly run for office — and voters have repeatedly rejected her.
California State Assembly District 44 (2018)
Baldwin-Kennedy’s first major political run ended in overwhelming defeat. California voters in District 44 overwhelmingly backed Democratic candidates, while her campaign failed to gain serious traction.
Her support was minimal, and voters clearly rejected her message and candidacy.
U.S. Congress — California District 26 (2020)
Her next campaign was for Congress in California’s 26th Congressional District.
The results were devastating:
-
Julia Brownley: 60.6%
-
Ronda Baldwin-Kennedy: 39.4%
Baldwin-Kennedy lost by more than 21 percentage points.
That was not competitive.
That was a landslide rejection.
U.S. Congress — California District 30 (2022)
Things got even worse in her next congressional race.
In the California District 30 primary, Baldwin-Kennedy received only 8.5% of the vote and finished far behind multiple candidates.
Eight-and-a-half percent.
After years of campaigning, California voters still overwhelmingly rejected her candidacy.
NEVADA U.S. SENATE CAMPAIGN ACTIVITY (2024)
After repeated failures in California, Baldwin-Kennedy relocated to Nevada and almost immediately entered Nevada politics.
During the Nevada U.S. Senate race cycle, she failed to gain meaningful statewide traction while established candidates dominated the race. Nevada voters overwhelmingly focused on the major-party candidates:
-
Jacky Rosen: 47.87%
-
Sam Brown: 46.22%
Baldwin-Kennedy failed to emerge as a viable contender in Nevada politics despite aggressively promoting herself statewide.
Critics immediately accused her of political carpetbagging — abandoning California after repeated defeats and attempting to reinvent herself in Nevada politics.
POLITICALLY CONFUSED AND DESPERATELY SHOPPING FOR A SEAT
During her Nevada political activity, Baldwin-Kennedy appeared unable to decide which office she actually wanted.
Reports and campaign activity showed movement between:
-
Congressional District 3,
-
Clark County Commission District F,
-
Nevada Senate District 9,
-
filings involving the Nevada Secretary of State,
-
and now Congressional District 4.
That is not public service.
That is political desperation.
Nevada voters are watching a candidate bounce from office to office searching for whichever seat offers the best political opportunity.
And now she has landed in Congressional District 4 — despite reportedly not even living there.
SHE CANNOT EVEN VOTE FOR HERSELF
Perhaps the most embarrassing reality of this campaign is this:
Baldwin-Kennedy reportedly does not live in Congressional District 4.
That means she cannot even vote for herself in the very race where she wants the people of CD4 to send her to Washington, D.C.
Think about how absurd that is.
A candidate asking rural Nevadans to trust her representation while she herself does not even reside among them.
Nevadans deserve better than political tourists hunting for a district.
SHE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND RURAL NEVADA
Congressional District 4 contains large rural portions of Nevada with communities built around:
-
farming,
-
ranching,
-
mining,
-
veterans,
-
water rights,
-
agriculture,
-
land access,
-
and small-town survival.
These are not abstract political talking points.
These are real daily struggles for working Nevadans.
Critics argue Baldwin-Kennedy has never lived the rural Nevada lifestyle and has no meaningful connection to the day-to-day realities faced by:
-
ranchers battling federal land restrictions,
-
miners fighting regulatory uncertainty,
-
farmers struggling with water shortages,
-
or rural families driving hours for healthcare and services.
