Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission held a hearing on Clark County Family Court Judge Rena Hughes on Wednesday May 30, 2018 (Click onto videos of hearing at https://veteransinpolitics.org/2018/06/judicial-disciplinary-hearing-of-clark-county-family-court-judge-rena-g-hughes/)
On June 18, 2018 the Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission found Clark County Family Court Judge Rena Hughes violated the following:
ORDERED:
Canon 1, Rule 1.1, failing to comply with the law, including the Code; Rule 1.2, failing to promote confidence in the judiciary; Canon 2, Rule 2.2, failing to uphold and apply the law and failing to perform all duties of her judicial office fairly and impartially; Rule 2.5(A) failing to perform judicial and administrative duties competently and diligently; and Rule 2.6(A), failing to accord a party’s right to be heard.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED:
Rena Hughes has to complete a National Judicial College at her own expense within a year and failure to do so shall result in being permanently removed from the bench and forever barred from serving as a judicial officer in the future.
