Las Vegas Nevada

Veterans In Politics International was asked to investigate the new Las Vegas Municipal Court building for failure to comply with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA).
After touring the courthouse we discovered that there are zero handicapped spaces around the courthouse, but there are 17 spaces just for Law Enforcement ONLY.
Our investigation reveals the following:
- The Westside of the courthouse has 10 spaces just for Law Enforcement only.
- The Northside or front of the courthouse has 5 spaces for Law Enforcement only.
- The Northside or front of the courthouse directly across the street are 2 additional spaces for Law Enforcement only. Except for Thursdays, 2 food trucks are allowed to occupy the spaces.
- The Eastside of the courthouse has designated no parking.
- The Southside of the courthouse has designated no parking.
The Southside of the courthouse directly across the street is designated for the (RTC) Regional Transportation Commission employees and customer parking only. Anyone else will be subjected to a tow.
The closes area in which any handicapped person, a handicapped person with a wheelchair, or disabled veterans with handicapped plates or placards is the City Garage located on Main Street.
The distance between the City Garage and the Las Vegas Municipal Courthouse, you would cross 3 streets and past Las Vegas City Hall just to get to the front door of the Courthouse, and don’t be late for court!
After speaking with Jack Eslinger Las Vegas Municipal Court Administrator. Eslinger said that he was worried about public safety and didn’t want another Oklahoma City Bombing.
Steve Sanson President of Veterans In Politics International explained to Eslinger that he is not in compliance with the ADA. Eslinger disagrees and Sanson asked him to provide any Federal and state laws that would allow him to accommodate law enforcement and turn his back on disabled citizens.
No law was provided to Sanson because no such laws exist.
NRS 484B.467 Parking space designated for persons who are handicapped: Signs; required plates, stickers, or placards for parking; prohibited acts; penalty.
In closing please contact Jack Eslinger Las Vegas Municipal Court Administrator at 702 229 3024 / 702 460 8571 or jeslinger@lasvegasnevada.gov and let him know to comply with the ADA.
